Product Overview

An amazingly effective device for maintaining sufficient supply in the event demand exceeds rainwater supply. Does not require electricity or any complex float switch devices. High flow rate enables rapid refilling of rainwater storage tanks.

Application:

  • Backup water supply control valve
  • The RainAid® valve is designed to be connected to a municipal or well water supply on a rainwater storage tank. It will provide a backup supply of water in the event of demand exceeding rain supply, while insuring maximum rainwater storage at the next rainfall.
  • Assists in keeping a minimum water level in tanks in order to fulfill demand between rain events.
  • Helps keep tank filled for fire fighting purposes

Operating Principle:

Under normal conditions, rain water will fill the tank. If the rainwater level drops below a pre-set level, the RainAid® valve will open to maintain the water level using municipal or well water.

Specifications:

  • Inlet connection: 3/4" male pipe thread
  • Cold municipal or well water pressure water connection.
  • Minimum inlet pressure: 8 PSI (55 kPa)
  • Maximum inlet pressure: 150 PSI (1000 kPa)
  • Maximum water temperature 140ˁEF (60ˁEC)
  • Supplied with inlet strainer
  • Open to closed valve differential is 4 inches of water

Installation Instructions:

IMPORTANT

  • Tank overflow should be visible (to detect malfunctioning valve)
  • Pump must have 'dry-run' protection
  • Failure to affix label, supplied with valve, near the overflow discharge will void warranty
  • Water loss is not covered by the manufacturers warranty
  • Cord must hang freely
  1. Install valve horizontally. Do not install on an angle.
  2. DO NOT restrict flow
  3. Inlet pipe must be clean
  4. Ensure the washer is fitted on the inside of the tank.
  5. Use thread tape and do not over-tighten
  6. Measure the required cord length 'L' as shown on the illustration.
  7. Trim the cord length.
  8. Thread the cord through the hole at the end of the lever. Tie a knot in the end of the cord to secure it.
  9. Ensure the weight is secure at the other end of the cord.
  10. Place the weight in the tank. (It will sink if the tank is full of water)
