Posted by Rain Harvesting Supplies, Inc. on 11th Mar 2015

A dozen rainwater harvesting professionals attended the hands-on workshop at the headquarters of Rain Harvesting Supplies in Denton, Texas on March 6 and learned how to properly assemble an Infiltrator underground water tank.

Participants, all of them experienced rainwater system installers, learned how to prepare Infiltrator IM-Series water tanks for installation underground to provide the best results The IM-Series tanks are made of molded plastic. They are lightweight but strong and durable and have demonstrated longtime strength and watertight qualities. The tanks come in a variety of sizes up to 1,787 gallons.

Steve Murdock, the Infiltrator representative and trainer, told the group that a rainwater harvesting system should be large enough so there is little or no overflow loss during peak rainfall months. Each rain water harvesting system is unique. The residential or commercial building owner should know how much rainwater he or she expects to collect and how much water will be used and how. Determining the right tank size will affect installation cost, operation and on-going maintenance.
